Ken Bailey
Liberty, SC
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clyde Kenneth Bailey, who left us peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on November 24, 1938, in Anderson, South Carolina, Ken spent his life as a beloved husband, father, and friend to many. Residing in Liberty, SC for much of his life, he truly was a cornerstone of his community.
His working career began as a fireman for the Anderson Fire Department. He later dedicated 22 years of his life to Amoco as a machine operator, embodying the commitment and work ethic that defined his approach to life. He was a familiar face in the local manufacturing scene, respected by his colleagues and admired for his skill. In addition to his work at Amoco, he provided part-time support at McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson and Gray Mortuary in Pelzer, showcasing his compassionate nature and desire to help others in their times of need.
Ken was a man of many talents. He possessed a beautiful voice and had a passion for singing that brought joy to those around him. A dedicated member of the Pickens Church of God, he frequently shared his musical gifts with his fellow congregants. In his downtime, you could often find him on his front porch, enjoying life’s simple pleasures, always ready to share a piece of candy with anyone who came by.
He leaves behind his soulmate and love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Linda Ann Bailey, his daughter, Lisa Parker (Trent), and his son, James Bailey (Anita). His family, along with friends and community members, will gather to honor his memory and celebrate the profound impact he had on all our lives. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at the mortuary.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Ken not just for the years he lived, but for the love he shared, the songs he sang, and the kindness he spread. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all.
