Mary Ophelia Clardy Owens, 91, of Cateechee Trail, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. Born in Liberty, she was the widow of the late Tom M. Owens, Sr. and a daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl Rackley Clardy. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cateechee Baptist Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Sylvia Chastain of the home and Deborah McClain(Terry) of Liberty; a son, Tom M. “Tommy” Owens, Jr. of West Union; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Hershel A. Owens; and a sister Geneva Clardy.
