Martha Sarah Roper Posey

A memorial service for Mrs. Posey will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Eastside Baptist Church. The family will greet friends and family following the service. Dr. Rick Lee and Pastor Jerry Tate will be officiating.

Martha Sarah Roper Posey, 60, of 403 Hillandale Road died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the wife of Prue Edward Posey of Liberty and a daughter of the late Elbert and Viola Chapman Roper. She was retired from Central Textiles and loved gardening, reading, birds and spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of Open Arms Community Church and also attended Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Tracy Standridge of Pickens; 2 sons, Tony Roper of Seneca and Ty Posey of Liberty; 2 sisters, Frances Hawkins and Judy Patterson both of Liberty; 4 brothers, Garnet Roper of Easley, Doyle Roper of Greenville, Delma Roper of Liberty and John Roper of Central; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 4 sisters; and 4 brothers.
