Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Brummitt will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial with military honors will be at Westview Cemetery in Liberty following the service.
James C. “Jim” Brummitt, 76, of 109 Lennox Lane, died Monday at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the widower of the late Charolette Smalling Brummitt and the son of the late James C. and Roberta Schropshire Brummitt. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked in law enforcement for his entire career and was retired from SLED. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Police, The American Legion Post #11, The Naval Fleet Reserve and Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 AFM. He was also a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his fiancé, Barbara N. Collins of the home; 2 sons, Jimmy Brummitt and his wife Donna of Easley and Michael Brummitt of Liberty; 2 grandchildren, Shane Brummitt and Ashley Holcombe; and 4 great grandchildren, Deyton, Emily and Carter Brummit and Christopher Holcombe.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta Denise Brummitt.
