Memorial services to honor the life of Mr. Bowman will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Calumet Baptist Church. The family will greet with friends following the service.
Grover Clyde Bowman, 86, of 308 W. Woodside Circle, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the husband of Betty Cooper Bowman and a son of the late Clefford A. and Eva Brazille Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was a graduate of Clemson University, and later retired from the Federal Highway Administration where he worked as a Civil Engineer. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are two sons, Victor Bowman of Clermont, NH, and Andy Bowman (Kim) of Liberty; a daughter, Terry Tipton of Sevierville, TN; two sisters, Roberta James of Liberty and Peggy Strawn of Greenville; a brother, Ronnie Bowman of Duncan; three grandchildren, Tara Lindbert (Daniel), Lindsey Riddle (Aaron), and McKenzie Carson (Tyler); also surviving are three great grandchildren, Grady Riddle, Ady Lindbert, and Karlee Riddle.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene and Bobby Bowman, and Charles Brazille.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Miracle Hill Childrens Home, 490 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville SC 29607.
