George John Belan, III, 61, of Liberty, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 1, 2019. Born in Fort Eustis, Virginia he was a son of Mary Ellen Witt Ross and the late George John Belan, Jr.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Angela Belan; two daughters, Tiffany Belan (James) of Dewey, IL, and Mandy Holliday (Ryker) of Easley; two sons, Devin and Daniel Belan both of the home; three sisters, Rosemary Spoljarick (Jeff) of North Huntington, PA, Anna Traynham (Kyle) of Travelers Rest, and Cathy Hawkins (Randy) of Travelers Rest; a grandson, Madyx Faulkner of Dewey, IL; his mother in law, Myra Abraham (Dick) of Anderson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Belan served in the United States Air Force following his graduation from high school. He was the owner/operator of Belan Pest Control. He was very humble, generous, and kind. He loved spending time with his family, helping others, and being involved with the community and Liberty First Baptist Church where he was a member.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Liberty First Baptist Church Preschool, PO Box 207, Liberty SC 29657, or Liberty Recreation Department, Scholarship Fund, PO Box 716, Liberty SC 29657.

Rosemary, Mary Ellen, and family: So very sorry to hear about the passing of George. The last time I saw him was at one of our class reunions ('86 or '91 (?)) and I distinctly remember how happy and content he seemed to be with life. I can still see him smiling from ear to ear -- just like he is smiling in the photo that was chosen for his obituary. He was so proud of his pest control business and used the reunion venue for marketing his service (smart man!). My husband still has the mouse he gave him. He has it pinned up on his partition at work and he still talks about it to this very day; in fact, the last time was just a few weeks ago. One day, very soon (retirement), that mouse will be making its new home in our garage at Paul's work station and that memory will continue to live on. Funny how such small things can make such huge impacts on our lives.

I have known George since he and I worked together at Advance Auto Parts in 2005. George was a great guy to be around and could brighten your day with his infectious smile and great attitude. I can truly say that through George and the life that he lived I could see Jesus all over him! I've known George for about 2 1/2 years. He is one of the most kind, caring persons I ever recall meeting. There was no doubt that his life definitely backed up his faith in Christ.
