It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Garrett Edward White, a remarkable individual who left this world too soon. Garrett entered this life on September 3, 2002, in the vibrant city of Greenville, South Carolina. His bright light was tragically extinguished on January 17, 2024, at the young age of 21, leaving a void that will be forever felt by those who knew and loved him.
Graduating from Pickens High School in 2020, Garrett excelled on the basketball court and displayed an unwavering passion for the game. His dedication, perseverance, and skill inspired not only his teammates but also those who watched him play. Beyond his athletic pursuits, Garrett possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, as evidenced by his successful clothing line. He poured his heart and soul into his creations, leaving an indelible mark on the world of fashion.
Garrett was a beloved son, devoted brother, and cherished friend. His infectious smile, gentle nature, and limitless kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He possessed a profound love for his family and friends, always putting their well-being above his own. Garrett’s unwavering loyalty and protective nature made him a trusted confidant and pillar of support for those closest to him.
Survivors include his loving parents, Amy Johnston White of Liberty and Thomas Kevin White of Greenville ; his two brothers, Heath White of Mishawaka, IN and Caleb White of Homer, GA, and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Jackie White of Easley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Gloria Johnston.
As we gather to commemorate Garrett’s life and honor his memory, we invite you to join us for the visitation at Liberty Mortuary on January 22, 2024, at 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm. Following the visitation, a heartfelt funeral service will be held the chapel at 2:00 pm. We encourage all who wish to pay their respects to come together in remembrance of Garrett’s extraordinary life, sharing stories, and finding solace in the memories we made with him. He will be laid to rest following services at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Though we mourn the loss of Garrett, we find strength in celebrating the impact he had on our lives. He will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of love, joy, and inspiration. May his spirit guide and comfort us during this difficult time, reminding us to live each day with the same enthusiasm and kindness that he so readily shared with the world.
