Graveside services with military honors to celebrate Milton’s life will be 3:30PM Friday at Westview Cemetery in Liberty. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
Charles Milton Mathis, 65, of 1503 Old Easley Highway, passed away, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Greenville he was a son of the late Sam Milton Mathis.
He was a 1965 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, and was member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 AFM, Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter #80, and the Hejaz Shrine.
Milton retired from the United States Navy with 22 years of service and served during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his mother, Frances M. Mathis of Liberty; a daughter, Sandy Johnson and her husband Michael of Anderson; a sister, Elaine Cole of Little River; two brothers, Andy Mathis of Liberty, and Timothy Mathis of Central; two grandchildren, Grace and Kayce Johnson; his special friend and companion, Sheila Miller; two special nieces, Alexis and Lacey Mathis.

The family will be at the home of his mother, 8 Nealy Street, Liberty SC.
