Zoie James Hawthorne, 90, of Easley, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Born in Anderson she was the widow of William E. Hawthorne, Sr. and a daughter of the late John James Sr. and May Young James.
She retired from Dunean Mill and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Sturner (Rudy) of Central; a son, Russell Grantner (Regina) of Pickens; 5 step sons, Allan, Donnie, David and Robert Hawthorne; a brother, William Harold James of Central; two grandchildren, Penny Winchester and Jon Sturner; three great grandchildren, Tiffany Barnes, Will and Katie Sturner; a great great grandchild, Dakota Barnes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a step daughter, Sandra Hawthorne, a step son, W.E. Hawthorne, Jr., four sisters, Martha Grant, Lois Davis, Ruth Boggs, and Betty Cater, and a brother, John James, Jr.
The family will a have a memorial visitation 1:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the Sturner Residence, 120 Hardy Drive, Central SC.
