Willie Doyle Newton, 85, of 1281 Anderson Highway, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
Born in Six Mile he was a son of the late John Thomas and Pearl Bradley Newton. He worked in logging many years and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Wehrer Newton of the home; a son, Steve Newton (Libby) of Liberty; a step daughter, Joan Rugheimer of Johns Island; a sister, Janie Boggs of Six Mile; three brothers, Harold Newton of Pickens, Carl Newton of Liberty, and George Newton of Seneca; 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1183 Coffee Road, Walhalla SC 29691. The family will depart from Liberty Mortuary at 12:00PM Noon on Wednesday in procession to the graveside for those friends and family that would like to follow.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
