Funeral services for Mr. Fowler will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Calumet Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
William L. “Billy” Fowler, 83, of 9 Willard Street, died Monday at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Liberty, he was the husband of Genevie Wilson Fowler of the home and a son of the late John Roy and Gladys Porter Fowler. He was retired from Libco Mill and had previously worked at Woodside Mills. He also owned and operated Bill’s Cabinet Shop and was a former Liberty city councilman. He was a member of Calumet Baptist Church where he was a member of the Pace Sunday School Class and also served as an usher.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Lynn Fowler of Liberty and Lisa Stone(Matt) of Easley; a son, Randy Fowler(Kaye) of Liberty; a sister, Martha Burgess of Mauldin; a brother, Wayne Fowler(Kathy) of Pickens; a grandson, Kevin Fowler(Kelli) of Liberty; and 2 great grandchildren, Kason and Kaylee.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Peggy McClanahan and Mary Jo Fowler; and 2 brothers, Wallace and Donald Fowler.
Flowers will be accepted but memorials may also be made to Calumet Baptist Church:400 S. Peachtree Street Liberty, SC 29657.
