William Belton “Bill” Boyle, Sr., 94, formerly of Sumter, and Clemson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Sumter he was the widower of Vera Mae Rogers Wright Boyle and a son of the late Edwin B. and Alice Dickson Boyle.
Bill was a graduate of Clemson University and was President of Boyle Construction Company until his retirement. He served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army where he attained the rank of Major.
Surviving are a son, William B. “Billy” Boyle, Jr. of Columbia; two step daughters, Ann Pressley of Covington, LA, and Robin Lee of Travelers Rest; a daughter in law, Mimi Upton Boyle of Columbia; three step grandchildren, Kery Harrelson of Gramby, CO, Alice Nolan of Mandeville, LA, and Kim Osborne of Columbia, SC; several nieces, nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lorick Boyle, a brother, Dr. Edwin B. Boyle, Jr., and a sister, Gene B. Brading.
