A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Gilstrap will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the mortuary. Private inurnment at Liberty Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.

Toni Denise Whitlock Gilstrap, 63, of 412 Florence Street, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the wife of Robin M. Gilstrap of the home and a daughter of Claudia Owen Whitlock of Liberty and the late Herschel Daniel Whitlock. She worked as a nurse at Greenville Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She enjoyed camping and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a daughter, Carrie Whitlock Sutherland (Jason) of Pickens; 2 sons, Kyle Gilstrap (Erica) of California and Neil Gilstrap (Kelly) of McLean, VA; 3 sisters, Becky Bagwell (Poss) of Liberty, Suzanne Koon (Randy) of Mountain Rest and Tamara Gollach (Jim) of Liberty; 5 grandchildren, Danielle Smith (Jeremy), Madison Chappell, Chandler Sutherland, Ender Gilstrap and Jacob Sutherland; and her life-long best friend, Debbie Hamby.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sara Turgeon and the staff of the State Farm Agency in Pickens of their love and support during this time.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Carrie Sutherland at 114 Calla Lily Court Pickens, SC 29671.
