Donald Jameison Edgar left a message on November 10, 2018:
Dear Aunt Sally, Kathy, Linda, and Hal, We were very sorry and set back by the news of Uncle Tim passing. Jennie and I are very grateful for the time we spent in his company. I see wonderful characteristics in her I can relate to him through, in particular graceful modesty and confidence, a good natured person, sensitive, who happens to be “the best kid on the team”. She asked me, “Dad, why do you say I’m like Uncle Tim? And I reply, “Well that doesn’t sound like me, and besides you’re both Ivy League!” As I collect my remembrances of the Jameisons, it goes back to my days in the cradle. The night my sister Laurie was born Uncle Tim and Aunt Sally came over to watch us at short notice. I remember Aunt Sally’s fur coat and nightgown. One time when we visited Ossining, it was a warm weekend morning. I was chewing gum in the car and towards the end of the trip things got out of control and my hands were completly snared with chewing gum, tensions were escalating and no sympathy at all. When we pulled in, there was Uncle Tim (the Marine), kneeling in the grass in front of the flowerbed. He calmly took control of my gum and kleenex ruined hands. I remember: he had on his old service boots? We went to the water spigot which was right there, that did not work on it at all. What a mess! Then he calmly went to the rag and rubbing alcohol and together we shared the victory of getting my hands cleaned up - and me out of trouble! We all remember the great woopty woop roller slide on the hill in back of the nice white fenced yard. As children ourselves we could sense how much he loved his kids. Bacca (Otto Weber) Ossining - then out to the midwest on the Fox River. That was something. The aluminum canoe. Then Chappaqua - Granny and Poppy, Threase and Noni, Grandparents Mark and Helen Edgar had a summer place in Carmel. We all lived close enough and had great day trips and many fun visits. When school got out for the summer we went to Vermont and got settled in. Things were pretty quiet. Soon Mom would say, “At such and such date, the Jameisons, the Fletchers, the Walls, and the Eibergers are all coming up!” Soon enough, everyone would show up at the farm, and Uncle Fletch would get things going. We’ve all got lots of memories of laughter and good times. I remember in my early twenties Uncle Tim spent a little time with us at the farm while he pursued business interests in the area. He was a great role model for me, in particular, how to work efficiently out of a briefcase and how to maintain a neat and well groomed appearance ; ) I admired how he could pick up and go skating, skiing, his canoe and snorkel and fins, and of course, his awesome golf practice swings, comfortably transitioning all the things he liked. Later, I was fortunate to be included in some of his projects and enterprises. I learned from him not only some business acumen but the degree of his generosity was life changing for me at that time. It was fun to see Mom take Jennie to Florida for some visits early on, with the beach, bikes, inline skates, and Aunt Sally’s cool projects. Uncle Tim had a nice calming presence on our family. In Caroline’s words: a sweet man. We all loved him. Let’s warmly remember Charlotte and Tim, and the collective energy of them both. We share this. Donald Jameison Edgar

Very sad news on the passing of Tim. I will always remember his great smile, and wry wit, but I will never forget him swimming the surf at Vero! I believe he did this almost on a daily basis up to his mid 70's!. He also was always so nice and kind to my kids Sydney and Jackson. He will be missed. Jim Cook
