Funeral services to honor Tommy’s life will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Thomas Joseph “Tommy” Garner, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Anderson he was a son of the late Andrew and Myrtle Lou Anthony Garner. He was a 1958 graduate of Easley High School. He worked for C&S Wholesale in Mauldin and after retirement worked part time for Liberty Mortuary.
Tommy was an avid sports fan, and loved to pull for his Carolina Gamecocks. He attended Grace Christian Fellowship in Dacusville.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Nealey Garner, of the home; two daughters, Loretta Garner of Easley, and Rita Burgess and her husband Greg of Easley; a son, Joey Garner and his wife Trish of Easley; two sisters, Sarah Rice of Easley, and Ruth Mosley of Six Mile; two brothers, Arthur Garner of Easley, and Robert Garner of Hendersonville, NC; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Childress (Gregorio), Matt Childress (Cassandra), Roman Farmer (Brittany), Megan Burgess, Trevor and T.J. Garner, Caleb Gravley, and Emily Garner; three great grandchildren, Monica Guzman, Rose Childress, and Gracen Garner.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Gregory Burgess.
