Steve Morris Smith, 61, of 147 Francis Street, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his residence. Born in Chester, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Troy Clyde “T.C.” and Lucille “Lucy” Rebecca Hollifield Smith. He Enjoyed Fishing and playing guitar.

Surviving are a daughter, Trudy Merck and her husband Jon of Liberty; a son, Jason Smith and his wife Ashley of Greenville; a brother, Ronald Smith and 2 grandchildren, Landon and Ansley Merck.

He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 2 brothers, Jimmy Smith and Troy Smith, III.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2018 at Liberty Mortuary. Private burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester will take place at a later date.
