She was a second mom to me..she use to drive a old 2 door green mustang and we use to have to walk to school on days it would be freezing cold out side she would pack bridget..link .and me my sister jodi and my brother mike and chuck and take us to school she always went out of her way to show us love even popped me on the butt a few times if me and bridget would get out of control lol. She took us skating in easley every Thursday knowing she didn't have much she would pay for me to go just so I wouldn't be left out and she would eat mayonnaise sandwiches because she spent her money on all of us kids to be happy. She laughed easily and loved whole heartedly. I'm so thankful for her in my childhood years she it part of what molded me of who I am. I will always love her and be FOREVER grateful Love missie Jernigan

Shirley, the comedian will be missed by many. In the 70's she was a "mod squad" follower and so "hip". As time passed, she was a loving Mom and caring individual to so many persons. Still further down life's road she was cast many difficult tasks, but kept her humor. So many will always recall that fun spirit she had. family members, friends and even passer-bys will recall that silly and happy person that she was and that many would love to be. May the lives of each of her family members be brightened with those warm and loving memories that she made in their life. Patra Ann (cousin)

Link, my heart is breaking for you and your family during this time of loss. I lost Dad in September and it still doesn't seem real. Your mom was always a joy to be around and a real hoot. She always treated me like her own. I'm thankful that she is no longer in pain. I know there are just no words. But, I'm keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers and will ask for comfort for you. Lovingly, Becky Clark
