Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Crowe will be held Wednesday at 12:00 Noon in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Sara Mae Powell Crowe, 82, of 120 Roanoke Road, passed away peacefully Monday, May 9, 2016 at her residence. Born in Easley, she was the wife of Alex “Junior” Crowe, Jr. for more than 66 years, and a daughter of the late Horace Rosemond and Ada Chandler Powell. She retired from Crowe’s Grocery Store which she and her husband owned for many years. She loved sewing and had grown passionate about making clothing for Angels Unaware which provides for families of stillborn children. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Keowee O.E.S. Chapter #128 and was a current life member of Easley O.E.S. Chapter #200. She had also been attending Norris First Baptist Church for the past several years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Patricia Gilstrap(Tommy Joe) of Liberty; 2 sons, Robert Crowe(Deborah) of Easley and Richard Crowe(Joan) of Pickens; a sister, Edna Raines of Easley; 2 brothers, Alvin and Vernon Powell both of Easley; 3 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 3 brothers, Cleo, William and Herman Powell.
