Funeral services for Mr. Peterson will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Richard Terry Peterson, 62, of 202 Odell Drive, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Burnsville, NC, he was the husband of VaughnDe Smith Peterson and a son of Stella McCurry Peterson of Slater and the late Dick H. Peterson. Mr. Peterson attended Greenville Technical College where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter, Sarah Elizebeth Peterson of Easley; a son, Matthew Glenn Peterson of Easley; a brother, Larry Peterson of Slater; his father in law, Brack Smith of Easley; two brothers in law, Kirk Smith (Sharon) of Anderson, and Carl Smith (Heather) of Easley; nieces and nephews, Kelsey Smith, Cameron Smith, and Megan Smith.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation: Make-A-Wish America, Gift Processing, 4742 North 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.

The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary is handling arrangements.
