A visitation for Mrs. Payton will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary.
Nancy Evans Payton, 77, of 109 Lake Drive, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the wife of Raymond E. Payton of the home, and a daughter of the late James and Monie M. Sparks Evans. She had worked at Woodside Mills in Liberty and enjoyed making dolls and quilts. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 daughters, Carla Doll and her husband Vince of Liberty, Kimberly Lingenfelter of Central, and Nina M. Stewart and her husband Tony of Easley; 2 sons, Michael Payton of the home and Frank Payton of Liberty; a sister, Vicky Bays of Portsmouth, Ohio; 2 brothers, Roger and Jimmy Evans both of Portsmouth, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Mary “Sissy” Williams; 2 brothers, Ronnie and Pete Evans; and a great grandchild, Christopher Michael Oglesby, Jr.
