With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Rebecca Rackley Hamby, who peacefully departed from this world on June 13, 2024.

Born in Liberty, SC, on March 17, 1947, she was a loving daughter to Mary Pettit Rackley and the late Charley Rackley. She was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church.

She dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a CNA at Clemson Downs for many years. Her tender care and compassion touched the lives of many over the years, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Surviving in addition to her mother are three sisters, Shirley Alexander (Pete), Ester Smith (Rondald), and Sarah Turner; two brothers, Eddie Rackley and Freddie Rackley (Joann); also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth F. Rackley and her infant brother, Marvin H. Rackley.

Funeral services to honor Becky’s life will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the mortuary.

As we come together to celebrate Becky’s life and honor her memory, let us remember her kind spirit and unwavering dedication to those in need. In her passing, she leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of compassion that will be forever treasured by her family, friends, and the community she served. May she rest in peace.
