It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Maude Marie Todd, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 6, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 14, 1938, in Six Mile, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William P. and Clara Holder Kelley.
She spent her life in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain region, growing roots in Pickens, SC, where she nurtured her family and cultivated her passions. Maude cherished her role as a homemaker, pouring love into her family and instilling in them the values of kindness and togetherness.
An avid reader of romance novels, Maude found joy in the stories that could whisk her away to different worlds. When not lost in a book, she could be found tending to her garden, planting vibrant flowers that mirrored her warm personality. Those who knew her will remember her infectious laughter, caring nature, and the way she could make everyone feel at home.
She was a devoted mother to her daughters Evelyn Powell (Robert), Tammy Patterson; and four sons William Todd, Allen Todd, Harold Todd (Donna), and Calvin Todd (Janice). Each of her children carries a piece of her spirit and unwavering love, and her legacy will forever shine brightly through them. Also surviving are a sister, Ruby Todd, four brothers, Marvin, William, Fred, and Richard Kelley; seven grandchildren, Lisa LaBrecque (Shawn), Christopher Powell (Tiffany), Crystal Patterson (Kenny), Tracy Belcher (Cory), Steven Todd (Haley), Shona Watkins (Matt), and Joseph Todd (Chelsea); fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Patterson, a son in law, Phillip Patterson, and numerous siblings.
Graveside services to honor Ms. Todd’s life will be conducted 10:30 AM Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 until 10:00 am the Liberty Mortuary.
Though Maude may have departed from this world, her love, laughter, and the beautiful memories shared together will remain etched in our hearts forever. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude, appreciation, and sincere thanks to Haley for her kind, compassionate care, she showed during her last few years.
