Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Norton will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Flat Rock Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00PM at the church.

Wanda Whitlock Norton, 89, of 202 Francis Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Liberty she was the widow of Richard Norton and a daughter of the late William R. “Bill” and Mary Frances Summey Whitlock.

She retired from Libco Mills and enjoyed embroidery and flowers.

Mrs. Norton was a longtime member of Flat Rock Baptist Church where she served for more than 60 years in the church nursery.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Sanders (Mike) of Norris; two sisters, Ida Nix of Liberty, and Alta Murrell of Easley; three grandchildren, Lori Langston of Westminster, Jeremy Sanders (Jennifer) of Princeton, MA, and Matthew Sanders of Portland, OR.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Hamlin and a brother, James R. Whitlock.

The family will be at their respective homes.
