Patti Shirley

Townville, SC

Patti Pirnes Shirley, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on May 30, 1965, in Marietta, Georgia, she brought warmth and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a daughter of the late Stanley and Genelle Robinson Pirnes.

Patti was a graduate of Liberty High School and Tri-County Technical College. She spent her life dedicated to her family and her work as a Commodity Manager at Champion Aerospace in Liberty, where she devoted 36 years of her life to her career.

Patti is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, George W. Shirley; her cherished daughter, Katie Shirley; and her sister, Lori Dent (Michael); also surviving are her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John S. and Julia M. Shirley, her brother-in-law, Sammy Shirley, and a sister-in-law, Mary Williams (Kip).

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Patti will remember her as one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Her spirit and love for family were evident in everything she did, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Liberty Memorial Gardens. No formal visitation will be held but her remains will lie in state from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.

Her legacy of kindness and love will endure in the stories we share, and she will be dearly missed by many.

So sorry to hear of Patti passing I went to school with her , my thoughts and prayers are with the family and pray that God will give y’all strength and comfort during these hard times.

As I have reflected this week on the loss of Patti, first and foremost my heart and prayers go out to her husband George, daughter Katie and her sister Lori. May God’s presence be with you during this difficult time and in the days to come. I know Patti’s presence will be greatly missed as she was such a loving and caring friend to all who knew her. My friendship began with Patti when her family moved to Liberty and Patti and I were in 2nd grade. We clicked right away and remained friends all these years. We had some good times together! I specifically recall riding home with her from school on the bus (I was less fortunate as my mother was a teacher so I always had a car ride, lol). Patti lived very close to what was then “Charlie Holcombe’s Grocery Store”. After school, (in the early 1970’s) Patti and I would scramble up a quarter, fifty cents or whatever we had or could get our hands on, and we would walk to Charlie’s store and get a bag full of candy with the little bit of change we had. Patti was a great pianist and so we would go into their formal living room and play the piano until we got too loud and her dad couldn’t hear the tv. Patti was a straight “A” student in school and graduated high school without missing a day the entire 12 years. We had biology together in the 11th grade and Mrs. Stansell was a great teacher but she was tough! We were determined to “ACE” our final exam so Patti came to my house and we studied for hours. It paid off…..we both made an A+! Sadly, I didn’t keep in close contact with Patti over the past several years. I regret that! Patti was always one to remember my birthday and would drop a gift by my house and leave on my screened porch. I would know instantly, without looking at the card, who it was from. Patti was a dear and faithful friend. She loved Jesus and always put Him first in her life. I know Patti is in heaven and I look forward to that day when we all will see her again! I worked with Patty at Champion Aerospace in the late 90s. I remember her always having a smile on her face and just having a very positive attitude. She was such a bright person, she will missed. Prayers for her family.

I had the privilege of working with Patti for 15 years and she was always so kind and caring to everyone. She was a dedicated worker, devout christian and a pleasure to be around. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

I was so sorry to hear about Patti. We have been friends since the 4th grade. She was the best jump roper at recess. My prayers for the family.
