The funeral service for Mrs. LaGarda will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Liberty. A visitation will be Heldon hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in the Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery.

Janie Imogene Daniel LaGarda, age 96 of 110 Carrie Road, Liberty, South Carolina died peacefully Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at her son’s home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

A daughter of the late William & late Martha Daniel of Lincolnton, North Carolina.

The sister of the late William & late Jenny Daniel of Palm Beach, Florida., the late Robert & late Emily Daniel of Sharpsburg, Georgia, the late Lucille Ross of Rockingham, North Carolina and the late Cornelia & David Rhine of High Shoals, North Carolina.

Mother of the late Ronnie Greene of Chicago, IL, the late Tom Greene of High Scholes, North Carolina, Pamela Forrester of Indianapolis, Indiana, William and the late Diane Ringmeier of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Catherine Frankowski of Chicago, Illinois, the late Edward Ringmeier, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and the late Joseph Ringmeier of Chicago, Illinois.

Grandmother of the late Richard Ringmeier, Michael Ringmeier and Steven Ringmeier.

Great Grandmother of Coraline and Charlotte.

Aunt to Robert Daniel of Columbia, South Carolina, Patricia and Todd Willmore of Sharpsburg, Georgia and David and Nancy Daniel of Apopka, Florida.

Dear friend to Gail, Judy, Jean, Gwen, Barb, Tommy & Sharon, the Pittard Family.

Graduated high school in High Shoals, North Carolina at the age of 16 in 1946. She started working at the local textile mill the very next day. She eventually moved to Chicago where she married Edward Ringmeier and they started their family. Edward Ringmeier, Sr. passed away in 1968. She retired to Liberty, South Carolina with her husband Arthur LaGarda who passed away in 2005. She worked as a volunteer with meals on wheals. Enjoyed gardening and bird watching in her backyard and enjoyed playing chicken foot at the senior center. She was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, Liberty, South Carolina.
