Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Stancil will be 2:30 PM Friday, January 21, 2021 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel conducted by Reverend Jack Shook. Private burial will take place at Golden Creek Baptist Church. No visitation is planned. Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, seating will be limited to 50 people and masks will be required. Edith Green Stancil, 96, of Six Mile, South Carolina, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Alabama she was the widow of Cleo “Bill” Stancil and a daughter of the late Richard and Pearl Adcox Green.
She retired from Dan River Mills and was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Charles Stancil (Sandra) of Six Mile; 4 grandchildren, Rhonda Glenn (Anthony) of Belton, Becky Thomas (Derek) of Six Mile, David Stancil of Central, and Cicely Stancil of Six Mile; 8 great grandchildren, Aaron Taylor (Sundi), Dakota Thomas, Heather Thomas, Jacob Nance, Brayden Pyles, Trevon Pyles, Grant Stancil, and London Stancil; also surviving are 3 great great grandchildren, Chanze, June, and Jaron.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons, William and James Stancil, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.
