Troy Lee Brooks, Sr., 76, of Liberty, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Easley he was a son of the late George Maton and Arietta Hendricks Brooks.

Troy worked many years as a brick mason and was a longtime member of Rice’s Creek Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving is his wife, Helen Marie Edwards Brooks of the home; a daughter, Lisa K. Davis of Liberty; two sons, Travis Brooks (Bridgette), and Troy Lee “Bodie” Brooks, Jr. all of Liberty; two sisters, Evelyn Patterson and Winnon Miller both of Liberty; a brother, Tony Brooks of Liberty; also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Suzanne Thornton.

Memorial services to honor Troy’s life will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at the mortuary. Private burial will take place at a later date at Rice’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  A livestream of his service will be available by clicking the link below his obituary.
