Sam Andrew Mathis, 71, of Liberty, South Carolina, died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his home. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Sam and Frances McCall Mathis.

Andy was a United States Navy veteran.

Surviving is a sister, Elaine Cole of Liberty; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton Mathis and Timothy Mathis

No formal services are planned, however the family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 2, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
