Dear Karen and Family: I want to express my sincerest sympathy regarding the loss of Andy. I had the opportunity to work with Andy many years while we both were in Student Affairs. What a tremendous caring and dedicated guy Andy was. He always had a great can-do attitude. No job was impossible to Andy. He was also extremely pleasant to be around. He is definitely going to be missed. Praying for strength and comfort for you all in the days ahead.
My fonder memory of Andy will always be of him bring fresh tomatoes from his garden for all of us and his good morning and have a great day as he began his workday. He was truly a sweet man. Rest forever in heaven ? ❤

I am so deeply sorry for your loss and ours at the University. I worked with Andy on many occasions through out the years and I appreciated his commitment, flexibility and a willingness to do a good job. His personality was such that I felt free to call upon him with concerns or even a last minute request and he would do his best to honor it. There is a big ole hole in my heart right now. Please know how much we care about you at such a difficult time. You are a part of the Clemson family!
Deepest condolences to you and your family. You are such a wonderful family and to have this tragedy touch your lives directly is unbelievable. Please know that we are praying that the Lord will wrap His comforting arms around you all. He will keep you through this difficult time. Please reach out if there is anything we can do to help and encourage you all. We love you all and are here for you. -Colleen McAbee
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
My heart is full knowing that Andy has been surrounded by love and that his life touched so many in such meaningful ways. Getting to hire Andy as my right hand man was a gift, becoming friends was a treasure I have always appreciated, whether near or far, no matter how many years passed. He was always there when someone needed him, willing to lend a hand. I called him for help countless times. Some of my most favorite memories include antics with Andy coming to the rescue. Figuring out how to fry a turkey for our students in my car port is just one that comes to mind, painting - so much painting, building, fixing and mending of old campus buildings... and oh was he frugal, how we squeezed out extra pennies thanks to Andy's inventive solutions, no problem was too big, no fix to petty. He taught me more than I can measure. Being able to laugh, work hard, and give generously of your talent to teach others to gain their own, is a Godly walk. No matter how far away I landed, I could always count on Andy to support me as a colleague long after I hung up my tiger stripes.
Andy's spirit shines bright and his legacy is long. As a family man and friend, his reach stretches far and wide. It was an honor to watch Andy's contributions at Clemson make such an impression, reading about what a valued person he has been, so kindly regarded, by so many. It is a testament to his ability as a teacher to know that so many of our students reached out to share in our common mourning at Andy's passing. It makes me smile to recall how humbly Andy would shrug it all off.
I hope it offers some small comfort to know that he is missed by many, and that his loving nature impacted all he graced. May these memories hug you close. I have faith that he has imparted these tremendous gifts to his beautiful children, may they blossom in his love and all that he has been able to provide them with their loving mother.
Dear Karen and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Andy's passing. I had the pleasure of going through school with Andy. I also worked with him at Clemson University. Andy was always an inspiration to me. He will be greatly missed.
We are praying for you.
With love,
Joe and Leigh Dodson
Karen, you and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. Andy was a great man! I am sure you will never stop hearing these kind of statements regarding your husband. I was in HR when Andy was hired and remembered working on his hire. I have fond memories of our years on campus together. Knowing Andy was our point of contact as we processed, questioned and thought about what needed to be done to prepare campus, work spaces, etc for return to work after COVID remote work provided me with a level of comfort beyond what you can imagine......I knew he would make sure it was done right and I always trusted his judgment. We will miss his smile, his professionalism, his care and concern on campus. I am truly grateful to have known him and this campus is better because Andy was here. My thoughts, prayers and love remain with you and your family. Please do not hesitate to let me know if I can assist you.
Lovingly submitted,
Vivian L. Watson-Paul (formerly, Vivian Morris)
I known Andy since 2006 while working in Student Affairs at Clemson. We hit it off great while he was working at the Union Rec area. I always enjoy our many conversations over the the years and he was my go to guy when I needed something done or who to ask for help on something specific. To Karen and the family, just know he is no longer suffering and looking down on us. Definitely will miss Andy but he will never be forgotten in our hearts and minds. Rest In Peace my friend.
Karen, my heart is broken for you and the kids but praying that the Lord will carry you now and for many years to come. We have loved the bible and prayer book that you and Andy gave for Norah when she was born. Norah and Killian have been covered in those prayers, and many others, for years. May we cover you in prayer now. Andy, we love you and celebrate that you are in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord for his goodness and mercy as we grieve your passing.
Prayers to you and your family. I am one of the buyers for our department and had a lot of dealings with Andy. I even would help out with interviews when he needed help. We had just done one about a month ago and one conversation was about your girls and I saw the joy he had when he talked about his kids. He was a good man and you could see that. I lost my wife to covid back in January and know what you guys are going through. Lean on your family and friends but most of all, lean on God. He will see you through this. There will be good days and bad days. Just take things one day at at time. It will get easier but the loss of your loved one will never go away. Keep his memory alive by talking about him and discussing the good times you guys shared together. Once again, so sorry for you loss. A life taken too soon but God has a plan and we have to trust in him.
Karen and family, you will continue to be in my prayers thru the difficult days ahead. Andy was such a kind man and I'm thankful for the opportunity of knowing him as a co-worker at Clemson. He will be missed so very much. God Bless.

Praying for you and the children to find peace during this difficult time.
I did not know Andy, but the write-up from Inside Clemson and his obituary make me sad that I didn't know him. What a life well lived! It's hard to understand when a man who was a godly husband, son, father, and servant of so many is taken, but we trust God even when we don't understand. Praying for your peace. Also, praying for your family that God would show Himself mighty in your behalf and meet every need. Only eternity will tell the actual number of souls Andy served. God bless you all.
Although I did not Andy well, we worked together in Facilities and interacted on different occasions. His testimony as a hard worker and one who got the job done defined him. As God has called him home the words that echo in my mind are from Matthew 25:21, "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." We will miss Andy around Clemson University but rejoice in knowing we will meet once again under the greatest of circumstances! I will be praying for his Wife, his Children, his Mom and friends and family.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family, as well as the many friends of Andy.
When I first met Andy, he was still working with Student Affairs at Clemson University; I did not know his name at the time… but I certainly came to know and appreciate that smile & kind demeanor that he greeted me with when our paths would cross early every morning. When Andy came to work for University Facilities, I had numerous opportunities to interact with him… & he was always pleasant & professional. He was quickly recognized as a “go-to” guy to address unexpected issues. Andy will be dearly missed by so many of us at The University, both personally & professionally.
Andy- I’ll celebrate you through the mourning… but I know I’ll see you again one glad morning! ✝️

My heart and prayers are with the family. I remember when his car had rats and then the dogs chewed up some important part. When he finally figured it out he had Karen drive over to share what he encountered. I have never met a better man and family as the Riggins.
Our Deepest Condolences To All Of Andy’s Family & Friends.
My deepest sympathy and prayers to Karen and all the children. Your faith has shown through throughout this whole situation, and has been a testimony to the true God that you serve. We are here for you all whenever you need us. 24/7 Don't hesitate! We love you all!

Still praying for all of Yoy ♥️
I’ve lost count of how many years I have know Andy. I managed a few projects for him when he worked for Student Services here on Campus. He was always good to work with. Later when he came to work in my department, he had the same personality and work ethic I saw in previous encounters with him.
Andy touched so many lives in a wonderful way. Gems like him can’t be replaced nor forgotten.
Losing Andy has cast a cloud over or department and spots across campus and beyond.
We will truly miss him.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
