Reese Davis

Myron Reese Davis passed from this world to be with his Lord on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Born and raised in Blountstown, Florida, he was a son of the late Joe Reese and Margaret Aultman Davis. Reese later moved to Pickens, SC to begin his family.
He served as a church music leader for many years, using his God given talent for singing to bring glory to God. He was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church.
He was a well-known figure in the Scuba diving world, being a Scuba Instructor trainer, Scuba shop owner, and mentor to many divers. He was instrumental in spreading his love of diving to many in the upstate area; often training multiple generations of divers. His dive trips around the world were legendary, most filling up as soon as announced, with many repeat attendees over the years.
He leaves behind his wife of over 50 years, Patti Lynn Looper Davis; 3 children, Marcus R. Davis (Carami) of Six Mile, Rebecca Davis Brown of Easley, and Amanda Ratliff (Anthony) of Columbia; a sister, Millicent Bailey of Greensboro, NC. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Wesley Davis (Ashley), Deidre Curlee (Hunter), Logan Davis, Rachael Brown, Bailey Nyman, Anslee Ratliff; also surviving are 2 great-grandchildren, Roman and Harper Davis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Lorraine “Lori” Davis, and a grandson, Kaleb Ratliff.
Memorial services to honor Reese’s life will be conducted 12:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Six Mile Baptist Church. Burial will be private. The family will host an informal time of visitation and remembrances across the street from the church at the Roper Building following the service on Saturday.
