John Michael “Mike” Bryant, 74, of Central, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Westminster, he was a son of the late John Walker and Doris Hughes Bryant.
He was a 1982 graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and immediately went to work for the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office where his career spanned 23 years and he retired as a Detective. Following retirement he worked at Duke Energy in security for another 7 years.
Mike enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, and carpentry.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Missi Bryant of the home; a son, Caleb Bryant of Central; a daughter, Olivia Bryant of Central; a step son, Nicholas Todd (Katy) of Monterey, CA; a sister, Kathy Boggs (Rusty) of Westminster; his in-laws, Rev. Raymond and Martha Whitman of Central; also surviving are 2 nieces, Stacy Stewart and Tracy Tichenor.
