Russell “Rut” Arnold

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Russell “Rut” Arnold, a beloved brother, friend, and faithful believer. Born in Pickens he was a son of the late Harold and Katherine Fant Arnold.

Born on April 26, 1962, in Pickens, SC, he lived a life filled with simple joys and deep-rooted values. His love for hunting and fishing with his brother Bobby brought him immense happiness, as did tending to his yard, where he found solace and connection to nature.

His unwavering faith in the Lord was evident in everything he did. He shared his love for God with everyone he met, spreading light and hope wherever he went. His kind spirit and genuine compassion touched the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his two children, Jessica Carver (Daniel) of Seneca, and Matthew Arnold (Beki) of Six Mile; a sister Lynn Smith (Jeff) of Central, four brothers Bobby Arnold of McCormick, Jonathan Arnold (Shannon) of Six Mile, Wayne Arnold (Becky) of Central, and Allen Arnold of Florida; also surviving are four grandchildren, Kole Pottburg, Ellie Pottburg, Raven Arnold, and Ryker Arnold.

The family will host a memorial service to honor Rut’s life at 4:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2024 at Prayer Baptist Church in Central conducted by Rev. Jimmy Anthony.
