Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, September 5, 2021 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No formal visitation is planned.  A livestream of the service will be available by visiting his obituary at www.libertymortuary.com.

Fred Gene Robinson, 89, of Sunset, South Carolina, widower of Betty Robinson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Prisma Health-Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Chester, South Carolina he was a son of the late Jones M. and Sarah Robinson.

He worked over 40 years in law enforcement, serving as Sheriff of Fairfield County, and later retiring from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. His hobbies included woodworking, building furniture, and he was also a barber.

Out of all the things in his life, he loved his family most.

Fred loved to play the fiddle and was very active with the Old Country Church in Westminster. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Salem.

Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Parton (Bryan) of Sunset; a son, David Robinson of Pickens; a daughter in law, Karen Anthony; 6 grandchildren, Amber Robinson, Connor Robinson, Brittany Robinson, Morgan Parton, Lucas Parton, and Faith Parton; also surviving are a great granddaughter, Peyton.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, S.M. and Marion Robinson.
