Daniel Ellenburg
Liberty, SC
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Cleveland Ellenburg, a beloved husband, father, brother, and papa, on January 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on April 30, 1955, in Central, South Carolina he was the widower of Sheila Chapman Ellenburg and a son of the late David “D.C.” and Louise Carver Ellenburg.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard, a chapter of his life that he carried with pride. He dedicated many years to working as a C&C machine operator at Ohio Gear, where he formed lasting friendships and left a mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
His greatest achievements were his two sons, Jason Ellenburg and David “Monty” Ellenburg (Brittany).
He also cherished his three loving grandchildren, Natalie, Gavin and Ashlynn. Also surviving is his brother, Bobby Carver. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved nothing more than spending quality time with them.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Joe Ellenburg.
Daniel had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He was an avid USC Gamecocks fan, cheering for his team with an enthusiastic spirit. His love for music filled his home with the timeless sounds of Elvis Presley, while his evenings were often spent watching classic Westerns, enjoying the stories and characters that defined an era.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate his life and his wife Sheila will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. They will be laid to rest together at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 until 12:30 pm at the mortuary.
In this time of sorrow, we encourage those who knew Daniel to gather in celebration of his life-sharing stories and memories that signify the impact he had on us all. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
