Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Himes will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 12 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Mildred Herd Himes, 85, formerly of Liberty, passed away on April 28, 2017 at home in Florida. Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of Dennis Guy and Nora Elizabeth Smith Herd. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Liberty.

Surviving are four children, Roger Johnston (Judi) of Arlington, Va, Kathy Honeycutt (Hugh) of Tavares, FL, Frankie Long of Palmer, Alaska and Christy Hupp (Bob) of Dunedin, FL; six grandchildren Chrissy King (Joe), Terri Loveless (Mitch), Austin Blair Kikta, Janie Thornley, Jennifer Dierkes and Jack Thornley; 8 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild;and sister Gladys Rampey of Norris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Himes; her son Ronald M. Johnston; four sisters, Edith Stansell, Nell Goudelock, Vera Littleton Wood, Elizabeth Littleton; one brother, Grady L. Herd; and one grandchild Laura Johnston.
