Funeral services to honor the life of Ms. Lesley will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, July 13, 2018 at East Side Baptist Church by Dr. Rick Lee and Rev. Ralph Carter. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday evening, July 12, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary.

Mary Jo Lesley, 83, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in Liberty she was a daughter of the late James F. and Ellie Bracken Lesley.

She retired from Ryobi in Pickens. Jo was a longtime member of East Side Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, worked with the senior adults, and served in the food pantry. She was also well known for making her wonderful pound cakes for bereaved families and the many people she loved.

Surviving are two sisters, Pat Lesley Carter (Rev. Ralph Carter) of Anderson, and Dorothy Lesley Pilgrim of Pickens; a brother, Wayne Lesley of Athens, GA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hiawatha Lesley, Betty Green, and Bobbie Hanna, and five brothers, James J. Lesley, Donald Lesley, Fletcher Lesley, Leroy Lesley, and Rev. Wallace “Pete” Lesley.

The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to East Side Baptist Church, 920 Anderson Drive, Liberty SC 29657.
