Funeral services to honor Mrs. Smith’s life will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Zirconia Baptist Church in Zirconia, NC. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Mary Jane Guice Smith, 67, of 437 Country Club Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Bat Cave, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Grady and Georgia Laughter Guice.

Throughout her adult life, she was a faithful pastor’s wife, and spent her time supporting his ministry and raising her loving family. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Rudy Smith of the home; a daughter, Angela Pierce of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Elizabeth Smith of Easley, and Rick and Kayla Smith of Liberty; three sisters, Vonda Fair of Hendersonville, NC, Barbie Ebbett of Wortham, TX, and Polly Higgins of Tryon, NC; 7 grandchildren, Tristan, Samantha, Maddie, Elisa, Collins, Piper Grace, and Mercy Cate Smith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Smallwood.

The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary is handling arrangements.
