I called her "Granny." She wasn't really blood kin, but she loved me like I was. She was our next-door neighbor, and I stayed with her a lot as a child. So many words to describe her.... She was LOVE! She always had a hug and kind words for me. I never had to "measure up" for her, she loved me just for me. She was a TEACHER...When I was a child, she would sit for hours and tell me stories about her childhood, her adventures, her chicken with only one leg, & I would sit at her feet begging for another story! She was a HEALER....If I got hurt, she always had a kiss and hug and an aloe plant, when needed. So many good things to say about her. I have never seen her mistreat or be unkind to anyone. This woman was the closest representative of Jesus & God's love as any I have seen in my lifetime. You will be missed more than you can imagine! Thank you for what you meant in my life! You will never be forgotten. Kaye Youngblood Golden

To Mary Pelfrey's Family, I am so sorry for your loss. The little time I knew Mrs. Mary was all pleasant. She was a kind and caring Christian lady. She was a great resident at Sloan Street. I loved to hear her play her piano. Heaven is her permanent home now. God bless each of you for loving her and taking care of her earthly needs. Mary Jo Alexander

I haven't seen you in a very long time Mary but I'll never forget how sweet and nice a person you always were to me and my family. I'll also never forget how heavy your piano was the time I had to move it lol. I never got to tell you this but I loved you deeply. RIP Mary
