Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Dorsey will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30AM until 1:00PM at the mortuary.

Mamie Lee Bryant Dorsey, 100, of 517 N. Norris Drive, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Pruitt Health and Rehab in Six Mile. Born in Pickens County she was the widow of J.W. Dorsey and a daughter of the late Chesley McDaniel and Cora Henderson Bryant.

Mrs. Dorsey retired from Woodside Mills and later owned and operated Dorsey’s Restaurant for several years. She later worked and volunteered at Liberty Seniors Unlimited until she was 94 years old.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Norris.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Zorn of Cateechee; two special nieces, Ginger Haynes (Don) of Norris, and Jerry Tate of West Union; a grandson in law, Jeff Kelley (Cindy); also surviving are numerous other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Eula Mae Howe, a son in law, J.D. Howe, and a granddaughter, Sherry Kelley.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to First Baptist Church of Norris, Building Fund, PO Box 130, Norris SC 29667.

The family will be at the home of Don and Ginger Haynes, 132 Golden Creek Road, Norris SC.
