Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Holliday will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Joseph Edward “Joe” Holliday, 73, of 136 Knoll View Road, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his residence. Born in Six Mile, he was a son of the late Blease and Hazel Hooper Holliday. He was a retired self-employed painter. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his dog, Cheyenne. He also loved reading his bible and attending church at Six Mile Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Perkins(Paul) of Lowell, NC; a son, Greg Holliday of Lowell, NC; a sister, Martha Holder of Six Mile; 2 brothers, Oliver Holliday(Geneva) of Greenville and Ricky “Doc” Holliday(Bev) of Cateechee; 6 grandchildren, Jason Laye, Jennifer Morton, Amanda Carlton, Joseph “Jodey” Holliday, Timothy Perkins and Melissa Hall; 14 great grandchildren; and his 1st wife Kay Braswell.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Joseph Edward “Joey” Holliday, Jr.; 2 sisters, Margie Sanders and Bethel Monkus; and a brother Randy Holliday.

The family will be at their respective homes.
