Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Proffitt will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Liberty First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial at Liberty Memorial Gardens will be held privately.

John Willis Proffitt, Sr., 94, of 104 Mae Street, died peacefully, Friday, March 9, 2018 at his residence. Born in Pelzer, he was the widower of Mary Frances Pratt Proffitt and a son of the late Moody Graham and Sue Burgess Proffitt. Mr. Proffitt was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country during WWII. He was retired from Vulcan Materials and a longtime member of Liberty First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, John W. Proffitt, Jr. of the home; 2 daughters from a previous marriage, Debbie Villanueva of Aiken and Joni Iverson of Summerville; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Grace Callaham of Greenville and Hazel Breeding of Florida; 1 brother, Charles Proffitt of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.
