Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Carpenter will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Robinson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
John David Carpenter, 56, of 104 Westchester Way, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Shelby, North Carolina he was a son of Ben Carpenter and the late Alma Thrift Carpenter.
He graduated from Shelby High School, received his B.S. degree from N.C. State University, and later received his MBA from Jacksonville University. He was a project engineer for Jacobs Engineering & Consulting in Greenville.
He had numerous hobbies which included hunting, fishing, reading, camping, hiking, beekeeping, woodworking, blacksmithing, and traveling.
John was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his father of Easley, are his wife, Myra Jacks Carpenter of the home; a daughter, Erin Carpenter of Easley; two sons, Jacob Carpenter (Joyce Underwood) of St. Robert, MO, and Ryan Carpenter (Jennifer) of San Mateo, FL; a sister, Gayla Bucher (Bill) of Salisbury, NC; three grandchildren, Allen, John, and Trilby Carpenter.
The family will be at the home.
