My heartfelt condolences to Jim and the rest of the Miller family. Mrs. Miller was always so kind to send me a birthday greeting as our birthdays are on back to back days. I will always remember the nonchalant way she described her Hole In One at Keowee Springs to me...as if it was no big surprise!

I will always have fond memories of Joan and all of her family. After my dad passed away when I was very young, Aunt Edna and Uncle Roy would have me come and stay at their house for several weeks in the summer. Joan was 2 years younger than me and we would go to the movies, play in the yard and just have a good time. When I saw her at the last cousins get together we talked about me and my husband coming to visit. Due to some health problems we never did it and I am so sorry because I know we would have had a great time. Jim, we are so sorry for your loss and the rest of the family. Just remember she will always be as close as your next thought of her. Marilyn & Milt Tomkinson

Jim Miller, I was shocked to receive your message about the passing of Joan. I never had the chance to meet Joan in person. You and I have only kept in touch through Facebook and your wonderful Christmas letters. But even so I have been able to see the love you gave each other and to your wonderful children and grandchildren. I am so sorry for your loss. This is a very painful time. I am happy to hear that you have your family around you. Love, cousin Uarda Miller Carlson.
