A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Ables will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Jerry Wayne Ables,61, of 10 N. Palmetto died Monday at his residence. Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Mary King Ables. He was a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He also served in the U.S. Army. He loved listening to and teaching music and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are 3 sisters, Minnie Holcombe(Marion) of Liberty, Velma Moore(Lewis) of Anderson and Elizabeth Patterson(Wilton) of Pendleton; 2 brothers, Charles Ables(Janet) of Downingtown, PA and Edward Ables(Janice) of Liberty; a special sister in law, Kathryn Ables Canoy of Central; 6 nephews, Russell Ables, Larry Holcombe, Mark Patterson, Robby Holcombe, Ben Ables and Joshua Ables; 3 nieces, Debbie Lowe, Jennifer Ables and Pam Gardin; 4 great nephews, Jamie Ables, Dennis Holcombe, Nicholas Ables and Zachary Ables; and 3 Great nieces, Sue Ann Patterson, Kayla Ables and Dea Holcombe.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, James Robert “Bobby” Ables.
