Funeral services for Mrs. Cook will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Norris. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park will follow. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 PM in the sanctuary.

Janice Jeraldine Ashley “Jeri” Cook, 84, of Winding Creek Road, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Honea Path, she was the widow of John Marion Cook, Sr. and a daughter of the late Jasper Brown and Ollie Irene Brooks Ashley. She received her Bachelors of Nursing degree from MUSC and retired from Milliken. She enjoyed gardening, painting, traveling and spoiling her grandkids. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Norris where she was very active in the Winsome Sunday School Class, Kindred Hearts Group and the Alice Johnson Circle as well as parish nursing.

Surviving are a daughter, Tina Cook Kelly(Mack) of Pickens; 3 sons, John Marion Cook, Jr.(Denise) of Norris, Andrew Jasper Cook of Greenwood and William Kenneth Cook of Norris; a sister, Barbara Ann Hall of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren, Josiah, Samuel, Isaac, Lilligrace, Andrea and Ashley Cook and Noah and Will Kelly; her special longtime friend and special buddy, J.W. Smith; and her beloved companion, Sadie.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Ashley.
