Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Hathcock will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at East Side Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
James T. “J.T.” Hathcock, 86, of Liberty, passed away on Monday July 14, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Stanley County, North Carolina he was a son of the late William Dewey and Lizzie Brooks Hathcock.
He was a resident of Stanley County, North Carolina all his life until moving to Liberty after retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Hathcock of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Crystal Hathcock of Liberty; a sister, Reba Byrd of Oakboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Hathcock.
