A memorial service for Mr. Brooks will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at Liberty Mortuary.

James Douglas Brooks, Jr., 39, of 206 Jones Ave, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens. Born in Easley, he was the husband of Rebecca Irwin Brooks and the son of Jo Lynn Whitlock Shockley and her husband, Ronald of Liberty and James Douglas Brooks Sr. and his wife, Darlene also of Liberty. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a daughter, Madison Brooks of the home; a son Xander Brooks of the home; 2 step sisters, Michelle Shockley of Williamston and Amy Wilson of Clemson; 2 step brothers, Marshall Crawford of Anderson and Daniel Shockley of Williamston; and grandparents, Jo Ann and Donald Smith of Liberty and Joe Whitlock of Williamston.
