James A. Tomlinson, Jr.

James Alfred Tomlinson, Jr., 78, of 133 Squire Avenue, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Lynchburg, SC he was the widower of Carolyn Duncan Tomlinson and a son of the late James A. Tomlinson, Sr. and Grace Moore Tomlinson.
He was a graduate of Clemson University and retired from Southeastern Industrial Services.
Mr. Tomlinson was a longstanding member of Pickens First Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He also was very active with civic work, the Lions Club, was a past member of the Pickens County School Board, and was on the board of directors for many years for Miracle Hill.
Surviving are a daughter, Page Tomlinson of Liberty; a son, Al Tomlinson (Donna) of Pickens; a sister, Tommye Morris (Robert) of Tucker, GA; a brother, Billy Tomlinson (Mary Ann) of Lynchburg, SC; two grandchildren, Jake and Zeke Tomlinson.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Heath.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Pickens First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 16, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
A private burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes.
