Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Burgess will be 3:00 PM Friday at Arial Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Ivory Burgess, 77, of 621 Rice Road, Easley, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Manna Health & Rehab in Pickens. Born in Pickens he was a son of the late Clarence and Essie Howard Burgess.
He was a retired truck driver having work for many years at G&P Trucking, and was a member of Arial Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Blanche Wood Burgess of the home; two daughters, Darlene (Steve) Anderson and Wanda Stamey both of Pickens; a son, Jerry (Shelia) Burgess of Liberty; two sisters, Evelyn Grice of Pickens, Mozelle Gilstrap of Liberty; a brother, Gary Burgess of Pickens; 5 grandchildren, Gretchen (Jamie) Reeves, Joshua Burgess and his fiance’ Lisa, April Anderson, Jennifer (Levi) Hannah, and Caleb Burgess; 5 great grandchildren, Kendyl Anderson, Savannah Burgess, Jay Reeves, Jeremy Burgess, and Ben Reeves.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Ivory Denise Burgess, and two granddaughters, Amanda & Adri-Anne Stamey.
The family will be at the residence.
