Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Parker will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Arial Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church.
Frances Broom Parton Parker, 78, of 116 Daves Mountain Way, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Eastatoe she was the widow of Sidney Ransom Parker and a daughter of the late Kermit Henry and Eva Queen Broom.
She was currently working at Corey’s Café. She was a member of Arial Baptist Church, and was the Grace Sunday School Class Teacher. She loved her church, her family, and loved flowers and gardening.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Roper Myers (Timothy) of Sunset, and Sue Tunnell (Stanley) of Greenville; a son, Rev. Dr. Danny Parton (Jean) of Sunset; a step daughter, Sonya Hester of Pickens; a step son, Scott Parker of Boca Raton, FL; two brothers, Clifton Broom of Pickens, and Buddy Broom of Easley; 6 grandchildren, Chad Roper, Bryan Parton, Corey Roper, Amy Smith, Lea Tunnell, and Justin Tunnell; 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dave Parton, Jr.
